Webb’s Organic Property Services offer simple alternatives that conserve water use, keep the overabundance of yard waste out of our landfills and help prevent synthetic chemicals from reaching our streams, lakes and rivers.

Services

  • Spring cleanup includes removal of leaves and debris in beds, walkways, patios, and the drive. Use of mower with spring loaded tines and vacuum attachment to clear lawn.
  • Webb recommends mowing the Natural Area twice per season: once in the summer and once in the fall (more frequently if weed control is necessary).
  • Fall cleanup includes removal of leaves and debris to reduce the amount of overwintering landscape pests and the need for chemical pesticides.
  • Fall lawn aeration reduces lawn thatch and increases nutrient and water penetration to the soil.
  • Irrigation systems are monitored and adjusted in order to conserve water and maintain the health of all plants in the landscape.

Lawn Care

  • Weekly mowing and maintenance to assist in the control of weeds and keep property looking beautiful. Webb uses mulching mowers that recycle lawn clippings and return nutrients naturally to the soil. We also trim at three inches to reduce water usage and promote healthy lawns.
  • Monthly application of an Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) approved, natural-based nitrogen fertilizer (4-5 applications per season.)
  • Manual removal of weeds as necessary or requested by the customer.

Trees

  • Tree and shrub inspections performed by Webb's International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist.
  • Ornamental tree pruning as needed or at the customer's request.
  • Use of an OMRI approved insecticide to control Spruce Weevil and Needle Scale in Colorado Spruce.
  • A spring application of an OMRI approved plant-based oil to control overwintering insects on deciduous trees and shrubs.
  • Two applications of an OMRI approved insecticide to control summer insect infestations.

Gardens

  • Spring garden cleanup in April includes edging of all garden beds; spring shrub pruning to reduce height, remove deadwood and damaged branches; fertilization of flower beds with a natural liquid fertilizer (Save-a-Tree); and clearing of weeds and debris.
  • Bed maintenance entails weeding, deadheading and cutting back perennials as necessary from May to October.
  • Adding compost to flower/shrub beds to add necessary nutrients to the soil, moderate soil temperatures, retain moisture and inhibit weed establishment.
